Leader in Me is a program based on the & Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey. We are encouraging students to be leaders in school and take responsibility for their learning through personal and academic goal setting.

JSUSD is an AVID District.  Rodeo Hills Elementary uses AVID strategies which focus on systems for preparing students for future college and careers.  Students will be learning several key skills in WICOR (Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading) which will prepare them for their future.  

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based three-tiered framework to improve and integrate all of the data, systems, and practices affecting student outcomes every day. PBIS creates schools where all students succeed.

Restorative Practices is an approach focused on building healthy relationships and promoting a positive, supportive school community. Instead of focusing on punishment when conflicts arise, restorative practices aim to understand the root causes of behavior and help students take responsibility for their actions. This process encourages open dialogue, empathy, and problem-solving to repair harm and strengthen relationships. By using these practices, we aim to foster a respectful, compassionate environment where all students feel valued and supported.
